How Not to Look Like a Cheap Cowgirl

Mix high-end with low-end fashion staples for a look that is red-carpet instead of cheap.

The beauty of being a cowgirl or a city girl with a love of cowgirl fashion is the choices to express your cowgirl vibe are endless. However, one of my cowgirl pet peeves is when a person wears too many low-end, throw away-fashion items only to end up looking cheap. And I don't mean Dolly Parton cheap, I mean battered Barbie cheap.

Picture a pair of budget (K-mart, Walmart, Target) pink cowboy boots so cheap you will walk to the car at the end of the night holding them, not wearing them. Then add a faux leather fringed jacket or vest and some garish necklace that is painted pink or fake turquoise purchased off Amazon or Shein. This approach (shown below) is a combo I beg you to avoid if you don't want to look cheap.

Instead, pair a classic item like a pair of Levi's or a silk cowprint skirt for your low cost item with accents Myra USA, Brighton, or Ariat. That type of combination makes for a priceless look that turns heads and gives you pick up power.

If you were to purchase the entire ensemble above from Jane Wayne, it would cost $113.50. See item breakout below.

Cactus ring...$12.50
Turquoise/Cowhide earrings....$20
Hairon Myra Bag.......$40
Silk skirt... $26
Cowgirl Couture Black Tank...$15

You could cheapen the look instantly by wearing costume jewelry and a plether purse you purchased to pinch pennies rather than turn heads. I'd much rather see you copy the look to the right. So much classier without spending much more.
